Since Sudan is a more of a rural then
urban country, most of the jobs that people have are farming jobs. Some work as
merchants or oil workers. People that work as merchants can sell fish, fresh
fruit and vegetables, handmade jewelry, handmade clothing (including religious
clothing), meats, and fresh milk. Farmers of Sudan grows a vast variety of food
and plants, some of which include: sesame, peanuts, fruits, yams, tobacco and
cotton, Sudan’s largest export.

The working conditions in Sudan vary
due to the amount of people living in rural communities that are
underdeveloped. The average amount of people working in Sudan is 53.6% over the
age of 15, 31.2% are women and 76.0% are male. The conditions in rural
communities are poor, with slavery and hard work for children.

Money in Sudan is called a Sudanese
pound. There are five different type of coins. One Canadian Dollar is equal to
4.91 Sudanese pounds.
Health
Health- Sudan has an ageing
population that has led to double the disease risk and rising rates of communicable
and noncommunicable diseases. A survey taken in 2010 called the Sudan Household
Survey had showed that 26.8% of children aged 5 to 59 months had diarrhea,
while 18.7% were sick due to possible pneumonia in the two weeks before the survey
was done. A study has shown that 78 out of 1000 children do not live to see
their fifth due to poor living conditions, disease, malaria, and fevers.
